8 More Days…and Counting!

by Josh on Jun.24, 2009, under Youth Camp 2009

The clock is ticking away towards July 3 as we head towards Youth Camp 2009! 8 days seems like a long time, but it isn’t. It’s fast approaching.

But I can’t help but wonder if there is someone out there, who wants to go to Youth Camp 2009 but has not decided to go. I had the blessings of meeting lots of awesome, intelligent, awesome people at the Youth Camp Rally earlier in June.

For those of you who are attending, I want to challenge you. I want to challenge you to pray for that one friend who is not going to Youth Camp 2009. I want to challenge you to BRING A FRIEND who does not know Christ to Youth Camp 2009. But most important, I want to challenge you to pray for that friend who does not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

In Matthew 9:35-38, Jesus talks about how the harvest is plentiful, but the harvesters are few. It’s the same with our friends and family. There are plenty of family and friends who don’t know Jesus, but there are few who are willing to share the Gospel, to share Jesus’s unconditional love, grace and mercy.

Youth Camp 2009 may be 8 days away, but these 8 days may ultimately be that difference for your friend or family member. I want you to pray with me this week to pray for Youth Camp 2009. Pray that the presence of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit will be at the Camp. Pray that God will work in everyone there, staffer, counselor and camper alike. Pray for friends and family who have are undecided or have decided not to goto Youth Camp to join us at Youth Camp 2009. Pray that God will change hearts and move schedules around to allow friends and family to come to Youth Camp 2009.

But most importantly, Pray for those out there who are looking for God’s love, God’s grace, God’s mercy.

It isn’t too late to make a difference in their lives. 8 days may seem very short, but it’s plenty of time to bring hope to a loved one.
